Our Journey so far...
2014
January:
Started as a Freelancer Pattern cutting trainer
February:
Opened first Instagram page to showcase our works (creative_pattern_cutter)
2015
January – December:
Continued as a Freelancer Pattern cutting trainer.
2016
August:
Held our first training in Lagos – “Weekend class for 12 weeks”
October:
creative_pattern_cutter reached 1000 followers on Instagram.
I became a Certified Origami Master.
2017
February:
Registered the company – “Shapes and Silhouette”
April to July:
Held pattern cutting classes in Ibadan, Enugu, Abuja, Portharcourt and Lagos.
December:
Reached 100 students landmark.
2018
January:
Opened Shapes and Silhouette studio.
Changed the training policy from teaching average of 10 students per class to 6 students per session. So that each student can get the best teaching experience.
March:
Started offering weekday classes – 2 days a week for 10 weeks
September:
creative_pattern_cutter reached 10,000 followers on Instagram.
2019
April:
Changed student classes from 2 days a week for 10 weeks to 4 days a week for 3 weeks.
October:
Reached 500 students taught in total.
2020
March:
Last physical class before COVID-19
April:
Started online class
May:

The business reopened physical classes after COVID-19 lockdown
2021
January:
Acquired digital pattern software and plotter machine
October:
First job completed using digital pattern software.
November:
Reached 1000 students taught in pattern making
2022
April:
Business received first award
July:
Business won first grant.
Officially became a Master Grader.

Shapes and Silhouette has been around for over eight years and we have taught over a thousand students both physically at our studio and online through our website, this shows that we have the experience, knowledge and skills to teach you pattern cutting from the basics.
What We Do
At Shapes & Silhouette we offer variety of services from construction of Basic Blocks, Creating Patterns (flat) for specific designs as requested by individuals or fashion brands for women’s wear, children’s wear, e.t.c. for different sizes both locally and internationally.
We also train already established fashion designers, seamstress, tailors, e.t.c. who are seeking to sharpen their creativity skills and or know how to interpret designs correctly through the flat pattern making method.
Our classes are designed with different options (weekday or weekend) to fit into your schedule so you are not left out from Learning
Our Online class also feels just like the physical class but you get to learn at your own pace (3 months access to a Personal Tutor).
